As an undergrad computer science student debugging recursive subroutines, I was introduced to a variety of acronyms by Dr. Ernie Lloyd that still hold meaning in the project management world today. At different points in our PM careers, I think we’ve all been FOOBAR-ed, had project team members who only listened to WII-FM, had projects from BFE and worked with vendors to further prove TINSTAAFL.
TINSTAAFL stands for There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch and in March, I found a vendor who is giving away one heck of a free lunch! CS Odessa, creators of Concept Draw Office, is willing to give project managers a free copy of their mind mapping, process flow modeling, and project scheduling tool in exchange for a testimonial on ow these tools help them execute project management. In addition to the software package, valued at $499, the will also include a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate.
When I first started the Tactical PM newsletter, I promised to bring you relevant project management advice and tactical tips and thanks to the folks at CS Odessa, you get to benefit from this free lunch.
The rules are really simple.
- Visit http://www.conceptdraw.com and download a trial copy of ConceptDraw Office
- Experiment with ConceptDraw Mind Map and ConceptDraw Project tools
- Write a brief 3-4 sentence testimonial on how the ConceptDraw Mind Map and Project tool helps you put project management into practice.
- Email

with your entry by March 19, 2010
- I’ll select the winning entry on March 22nd and the winner gets a full license of ConceptDraw Office and the $100 Amazon.com gift certificate.
That’s one heck of a free lunch for an email testimonial!
